 Post subject: Poseidon's continuing influence?

On reading the author’s description of the probable effects of the earthquake on the islanders (page 568), which they would have attributed to Poseidon’s evil influence, makes one wonder, with all the natural disasters we are suffering nowadays, whether these are still due to the evil God!
