Hello

I’m doing a research on myths and I have found lots of works published regarding Homers truth.
There are many theories that Odysseus traveled in America and his journey in the Mediterranean Sea is doubted since Odysseus was a well trained sailor. So how is it possible for a good sailor to be trapped there for 10 years?
Does anyone have information about these theories?
